Welcome to Furhill Pet Boarding
At Furhill Pet Boarding, we know that leaving your pet behind can be one of the hardest parts of going away. That’s why we’ve created a place where your furry family members are cared for with the same love, attention, and respect they receive at home. Nestled on 127 peaceful acres just outside Kempsey, Furhill combines the personalised care of a family-owned and operated business with the comfort, safety, and professionalism of a purpose-built boarding facility. Our story began in 2018 when Mel and Matt purchased the property with a dream of creating something special for pets and their people. After receiving council approval, construction began, and Furhill officially welcomed its first guests in November 2019. Since then, we have continued to grow and improve our facilities, but our focus has remained the same—to provide a genuinely caring and enjoyable boarding experience for every critter who comes through our gates. Since opening, we have had the pleasure and privilege of caring for thousands of dogs, cats, and other beloved critters. Every one of these has become part of the Furhill family, and nothing makes us happier than seeing them head home with happily wagging tails, content purrs, and plenty of happy stories from their own Furhill holiday. The humans behind Furhill are Mel, a veterinary nurse with more than 15 years of experience, and Matt, an all-round handyman and lifelong animal lover. Together with our passionate team of fur-baby enthusiasts, we all share a commitment to ensuring every one of our guests feels safe, comfortable, and loved while they're with us.
Caring for Pets Since 2018
Of course, Furhill wouldn't be complete without its resident animal crew. There's Wazi, our purebred Australian mongrel; Sapa, our Koolie-cross-whatever-else-we-can't-quite-work-out; cats Weasel and Mauw; chickens; horses who are convinced they're dogs; cows who are equally convinced they're dogs; and plenty of native wildlife that call the property home. We believe boarding should feel like a holiday for your pets, not just a place to stay. That's why every pet enjoys individual attention, cuddles, outdoor playtime and their own secure indoor-outdoor space. We take the time to get to know each pet's unique personality and needs and cater to them unashamedly! For pet owners, Furhill offers complete peace of mind. Our council-approved facilities are owned and operated by a veterinary nurse and a team of experienced critter-carers, meaning your pet's health, wellbeing and happiness are always our top priorities. You can relax knowing they're receiving attentive, professional care from people who genuinely love what they do.
